Counseling for Creative Professionals
I help creative professionals build self-compassion so they can see themselves for the talented individuals they are.
You picked this life because you’re passionate about what you do. You love creating and connecting with others through what you’re able to make. You’ve even been recognized for your talents. But it never sinks in. You scroll social media and see how many likes that other creator has. “You’ve got nothing on that,” says your inner critic. You are recognized, get published, or receive an award. “Yeah, but it’s not as good as what they got,” that voice pipes up. It’s hard, because unlike people in other careers, your work is not just your work, but an expression of who you are. If that’s not vulnerable, I don’t know what is! That critical voice in your head sure doesn’t help the situation. I can help you explore that intersection between creativity and work, pay more attention to your successes, and sooth your critical voice so you can reconnect with the joy of creating.
Counseling with me will help you:
Share you work with more confidence
Connect with and soothe your critical voice so you can create you best work
Separate external factors (such as payment and social media likes) from your value as a person and artist
Know and accept your worth
Build your communication skills to share that worth with others
Recognize areas where you might need extra help (like running a business) and determine ways you might access support
Set boundaries so you can tune in to your authentic voice and creativity

This may surprise you, but counseling can (and should) be fun. Yes, it’s work. Yes, it can be hard. But humor and fun are healing.
